Discover the best of St. Maarten/St. Martin on this island tour that takes you to the top historical sites, scenic viewpoints, and cultural highlights on both the French and Dutch sides. Your adventure begins at 10:00 am (St. Maarten local time) from The Salt Pickers. As we drive around the Great Salt Pond, you’ll see the impressive Salt Pickers statue showing how salt was harvested in the old days.
We continue through Fort Amsterdam/Fort Willem, offering beautiful views of Philipsburg, Great Bay, and Little Bay. At Harold Jack Hill, enjoy 10–15 minutes of amazing panoramic views over Dutch St. Maarten. In Simpson Bay Marina, take in the sight of luxury yachts framed by the island’s mountains.
Next, stop at the Border Monument (10 minutes), marking the line between the French and Dutch sides. Then explore Marigot for 1 hour and 15 minutes—the French capital known for its waterfront, open-air market, and bakeries.
We’ll drive through Grand Case (no stop), one of the island’s top beach areas, and head to Paradise View for another 10–15 minutes of breathtaking scenery in a quiet nature-surrounded lookout. Your tour continues through the French Quarter (Quartier d’Orléans), the first French settlement and the largest district on the French side, with a quick picture stop at the French/Dutch border.
We’ll return you safely to the departure point—or to Philipsburg if you’d like extra time for shopping. Cruise guests receive guaranteed on-time return to the ship.
